Time Flies...

Things have been crazy busy the last few weeks!  Between work, church, baseball, family, and friends, we haven't been home much in April.
Conner was selected to represent his school and shadow a school board member.  It was quite an honor!  He enjoyed pizza with the board and participated in the board meeting.  He was excited to cast the votes for his assigned board member.  We were thrilled that he was the shadow of a friend from church.

We are so thankful that Conner got to enjoy this experience!

This weekend the kids enjoyed some fun with friends.  Caitlyn, her friend Molly, and I went to see Charlotte's Web together.  Somehow I managed to not get a picture of our evening together!  While we were at the play, the boys, including one of Conner's pals from school, were at the church for Team Impact.  Team Impact did a show for three nights, and we saw many come to Christ.  It was awesome!

On Saturday Conner had a baseball game.  It was a horrible game.  However, Conner had a good stop in the outfield AND he hit the ball for the first time!  We were so thrilled for him.  I think he was in shock that he hit it because he just stood there for a second.  He did so well that the coach gave him the team ball.

One more thing, I just have to share what an AMAZING husband I have.  He is always so thoughtful and knows how to brighten my day.  I came home last Thursday to these...

Off to prepare for another week!

Whirlwind Weekend

Yesterday we had a day off from school for Good Friday.  We decided to dye eggs, and our neighbor joined us.  My kids love to do this!

While the eggs dried, we went and had lunch.  We had a surprise guest at our table.

Although it was really funny at first, the kids kept saying how creepy it was.  I had to agree!
After lunch, we headed back home to hide the eggs.
The kids always love hunting eggs!

Last night we went to a community service for Good Friday.  It was awesome!  I loved worshiping with believers from many different churches as the body of Christ.

Today we had two block parties/Easter egg hunts back to back.  It was a beautiful day, and I pray that the people in those communities know how much Jesus loves them!

I am so looking forward to tomorrow as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

Girls' Night Plus...

Over the weekend, the boys had a rehearsal for our church musical, so Caitlyn and I had some girl time.  I was looking forward to our evening together and a fun meal out.  Caitlyn got to choose where we ate, and of course she suggested McDonalds.  Yuck!  I quickly vetoed that and tried to coax her into a yummy mexican food restaurant or something.  Her next choice was Chick-fil-a which I love, but it wasn't really what I had in mind.  However, I agreed since it was her pick.

Next we set out for sandal shopping for Caitlyn since she has outgrown her ones from last year.  This proved to be a difficult task.  We went to Target, Kohl's, and Walmart before finding a pair we agreed on.  I'm just not ready for her to be wearing wedges or heels, especially considering she got my genes for being klutzy.

We had a fun time together, and I treasure these special moments with my sweet, joyful girl!

The rest of the weekend was fast and furious!  Conner had his very first ever baseball game.

I NEVER imagined I would be rooting for the Yankees!  Oh, the things we do for our kids!

We enjoyed watching the musical at church.  It is such a beautiful depiction of the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.  I am so thankful that I serve a LIVING God!
After the musical, Caitlyn spent the night with her best bud.  Of course she had to take Kit along!

Last night we prayer walked a neighborhood as a family and enjoyed a beautiful night!
They are letting water out of the dam

We watched the train

For as beautiful as last night was, this afternoon was nasty.  We endured heavy rain and thunderstorms which disrupted our dismissal at school.  There were tornadoes in the area, but thankfully we were not affected.  Because of the bad weather, we enjoyed a nice evening at home together.  I'm thankful for times when God slows down our schedule!
