UIL Awards Ceremony

Conner competed in number sense this afternoon.  While he was doing that, I was judging the spelling contest.  Then, we met up with Chad and Caitlyn to grab a quick bite to eat.  Afterward, we headed to the high school for the awards ceremony.  It is so hard because all of the kids come not knowing if they placed.  Their hopes are high, but there are only six places.
Conner and Caitlyn competed in writing but neither placed. We are so proud of them for trying.  As you can tell by the picture below, Caitlyn was very excited about her participation ribbon and not too disappointed with not placing.  Conner is another story as he was hoping to place because he did last year.  However, he was so excited that he placed 2nd in number sense!  We are so proud of them both and thankful that they have a desire to compete academically.
